The Colorado Rockies, winners of the NL Wild Card, will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies in what will be a re-match of the 2007 National League Division Series. This year, the two teams took much different paths to the playoffs and feature slightly different rosters than from two years ago. The Phillies took four of six games against the Rockies this season, winning two at home and home on the road. Still, the Rockies will look to continue their success after sweeping the Phillies in 2007. This year, the Phillies were the champions of the National League East, and are out to defend their World Championship from a year ago.

How They Got Here: Colorado Rockies
The Colorado Rockies are the 2009 National League Wild Card winners. They have finished the season on a remarkable hot streak and nearly won the National League West from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies found themselves 12 games under .500 in early June but turned things around and have one of the best records in the Majors since that time. They finished September and October with a combined 20-11 record. They were 51-30 at home this season and 41-40 on the road. The Rockies rattled off 11 straight wins and five consecutive losses at different times during the season. They were also 23-20 in one-run games, shutting out opponents seven times, while being shut out themselves nine times.

How They Got Here: Philadelphia Phillies
After winning the World Series in 2008, the Philadelphia Phillies started slow this season. However, as the weather warmed up, they did too. The team got especially hot through June, July, and August, helping to put away the National League East title. After the All-Star Break, the Phillies' lead in the East never dipped below four games. They finished with a mediocre September and October, going 18-16 in that time. The Phils were 45-36 at home and a Major League-best 48-33 on the road. During the season, they had streaks of 10 straight wins and six straight losses at various points. The Phillies were 24-21 in one-run games, while they shut out their opponents on nine different occasions, and were shut out themselves seven times.
